African Pompano are a hard fighting fish however very fragile when out of the water. Care must be taken to handle them quickly and carefully if they are to be released alive. When caught big enough to be legal they are an excellent eating fish.

They quickly fileted and cleaned the fish for us at the end, sending us off with a goodie bag of fish for dinner.
